NAEPC Webinar: S.A.V.E. Yourself (not your usual estate planning topic)

Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2018
Time: 3:00pm - 4:00pm ET
Location: Webinar
Speaker: Chad Sheehan

This webinar could save your life!

A message from the Webinar Committee Chair, Thomas M.  Borchert

It was Robert Alexander’s dream to bring “the best of the best, of the best” speakers to the NAEPC webinar series and to build a quality educational archive for Accredited Estate Planner® designees and local council members.  In the six years since our beginning the series we have done so, and will continue to be guided by his dream.

Our selection of monthly topics has paralleled our commitment to providing quality speakers.  Occasionally, a topic is so imperative that we bring it to you even when it is not a technical estate planning subject.  In those rare occasions we ask your indulgence and continued attendance so you can hear a broader range of topics which have value and importance.  The S.A.V.E. Yourself webinar planned for April 25th is one of these imperatives.  Your safety and that of your staff and family can be positively impacted by attending this presentation.  Training from Mr. Sheehan has already proven to have saved lives during the mass killings in Las Vegas.  We encourage you to attend and to consider registering your business or council for a group showing of the presentation, which can be watched live or on-demand at a time that is convenient for you.

Learn what to do in the midst of an active shooter situation.

How to survive the most horrific episode of your life.

Does your office have written procedures for handling work place violence?  If not, you could be facing a severe O.S.H.A. response following a deadly incident.  The S.A.V.E. Yourself program has taught over 100,000 people in more than 24 states how to respond in the 3 – 6 minutes of danger during an active shooter situation, before help arrives.  It incorporates current training philosophies and best practices of: U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security, U.S. Dept. of Justice, U.S. Department of Education, American College of Surgeons, International Association of Chiefs of Police, O.S.H.A., and S.H.R.M.

This webinar will condense what is typically a half-day program into one hour and will provide background, philosophy and examples chosen specifically for NAEPC members.  It will empower attendees with ideas to assist in a situation of workplace violence.  Emphasis will be placed on the proactive response to violence in the workplace and elsewhere.  Attendees will be empowered to survive.  If you survive, you can help others plan to thrive.

Chad Sheehan is the creator of S.A.V.E. Yourself, a training program for businesses, associations, and schools for their staff and students.  He is a 23 year veteran of law enforcement with assignments in Hostage Negotiations, as a Field Training Officer and a member of a Critical Incident Stress Management team.  Mr. Sheehan is a certified instructor in Rapid Response to active shooter, Conflict Resolution, Tactical Communication and D.A.R.E.

For Our Councils

NAEPC understands that councils want and need compelling virtual programming options to supplement their regular calendar of events. To accommodate this need, NAEPC is offering affiliated councils on-demand* access to any four webinars for a reduced cost of $400. Choose the "Pro-Rated Group Gathering" option on the online registration form and we will contact you promptly for your selections and to provide the program links and accompanying materials.

Councils that wish to offer continuing education credit must become the provider with their state and/or governing body.

*NAEPC will provide a website link and password to the recorded version of each webinar you choose, which can be used to show the program to council members and guests who have gathered together in person or on a virtual meeting. Please allow up to three business days after the live webinar to receive the link to the recorded program.

Continuing Education Credit

Continuing education credit is available at most webinars for Accredited Estate Planner® designees.  In addition, a general certificate of completion will be available for those who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements and are able to self-file.  It is the responsibility of the attendee to determine whether their state, discipline, or designation will allow one to self-file for a distance-learning program.  Please contact webinars@naepc.org prior to attending your first program if you have any questions with regard to the availability of credit.
